WRITING CLOTH

BannerCloth

Welcome to my hard-to-explain adventure.

I am simply writing a book. (Who isn’t, right?) But instead of tucking myself into a cave, popping out only when I have a book to put in your hands, I’m writing it in the digital Grove I’ve built here and am asking you to become a part of.

I’m asking you to buy the book now, when it’s nothing more than a seed (it’s crazy, I know) then join me on the creative journey to its completion. You don’t just get the product, you get the process. You get to try something new, trust the process, witness the process, participate in the process, live the process. You’ve heard: “It’s the journey not the destination”? Well, I’m sharing the journey instead of just selling the destination. You’ve heard “Show, don’t tell”? Well, I’m showing how the story unfolds instead of just letting you read the book while I tell you (in past tense) bits about what it was like writing it. You’ve heard of The Field of Dreams? Well, a field of dreams isn’t just for baseball.

(I told you it’s hard to explain.)

Call it a diary. Call it a backstage pass. Liken it to pre-ordering your German car, then watching it come off the assembly line..

Do you like to read? Do you like to write? Do you like quilts and cloth and stitching? Do you like being with other creative women? Are you absolutely gobsmacked every time you hear a woman tell you about how she magically created something? Do you like to hear a good story that’s well told? Well, then what are you waiting for? I may not be able to give you a neat, tidy outline of what’s gonna’ happen here, but I can absolutely assure you that you don’t want to miss it.

And hey, if we’ve already started when you get here, come on in anyway cause the only way you can be late to this special event is to not come at all.

JEANNE

Wholly Jeanne

Once dubbed a “wonder bra for the human spirit”, Jeanne is a complicated simple red dirt girl fluent only in English and Southern. She feels most beautiful when wearing earrings that dangle and skirts that caper.

Married long enough that the mere mention of her wedding anniversary sparks applause, Jeanne has survived two teenagers, a Cesarean delivery without anesthesia, a mugging on the sidewalks of New York, hanging wallpaper with her husband, and Christmas, 1993. Though she’s received many awards and honors for her work as a professional speaker and community volunteer and though she has a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master’s degree in Transformative Language Arts, Jeanne’s most proud of the fact that she’s never, ever had to attend a PTA meeting under an assumed name.
